The politics of the USA has all the appearances of a one-party state with two wings – the Republicans and the Democrats. This Washington D.C.-based party sets up straw men and fights faux battles for its entertainment and enrichment. The silent majority looks on as it always has, disapproving - but silent, having forgotten that it does have a voice – and a vote.
